Celebrate!” It’s the 50th
Anniversary of the Canadian Rose Society and we’re ready to celebrate! Use any amount of roses, either with or
without props or background Novice Youth Classes (under 18 years of age) “My
Favourite Rose” Any category, class any
colour: show off your favourite rose, either with or without props or
background. “The Roses
Are Having A Birthday Party and We’re Invited!” Use any category, class,
colour or amount to show roses as essential to the birthday party mix. Professional Class “An Ode To
The Rose”
Use any category, class, colour
or amount to show roses with or without props and background. How to enter
1. This contest is open, without any entrance fee, to
all members of the Canadian Rose Society. 2. Roses photographed can be garden or florist roses. 3. Photographs can be captured on slide, print or
digital format. However, all entries
are to be submitted as 8x10 prints to be used for a future exhibit. 4. All entries become the property of the CRS for
future publication. 5. All entries must be labelled according to the
following format. Each entry must have
a label attached to the back with the following information: a) name b) address c) phone number |

d) entry class e) rose(s) name(s), if known 6. Please print or type your sticker before you attach
it to your print 7. Any entry that
does not follow this format will not be considered in the competition. Prizes will be donated from
photography and rose suppliers. Prizes will be issued to the 1, 2 and 3 place
winners from each category. There will also be an
overall grand prize, second and third place winner.. These overall winners
will be chosen from all of the novice categories. The overall grand prize
winner will not only receive a prize for their photograph, but his or her
entry will be featured on the CRS 50th anniversary poster to be
offered nationally. A portion of the poster’s sales will be donated to
charity. Entries will be accepted up to November 30, 2004 at
midnight. A team of judges,
consisting of rosarians and professional photographers, will judge the photos
and announce the winners on December
20, 2004. Family members of the judging team may not enter. The CRS
accepts no responsibility for any lost or damaged entries. Please do not send
any negatives or irreplaceable prints. No prints will be returned to owners
at the conclusion of this contest. For further information,
