Rachel’s Ramblings 2005 Continued from Page 9 Fire & Peace (J.B. Williams 1996) HT. Deep red-Orange From
the photographs it looks like a “Quartered HT) of the old fashioned type, I
think this would look good in a mass planting on it’s own. Dark leathery foliage. Bright
orange and gold well formed blooms, which are fragrant. This HT reacts more like a floribunda with
large sprays freely produced. Disease
resistant dark green foliage; very healthy growth. A great addition to the garden. Ida (Hallmark* Rose
2002) (WISida) (Singer 2003) HT dp Deep Pink Named
after the first winner of the Mother’s Day Contest, Deep pink Blooms which darken to shades of
mauve purple as they age. Upright, bushy growth, slight fragrance. Belle Danielle (FRYdabble) (Jack Wood) (Fryer 1999) Fl. Vibrant
Pink Profuse
bloomer, it has tremendous energy and vigour.
This is one of the best deep pink floribundas in recent years. Wonderfully healthy, great for mass
bedding. Height 2-1/2 ‘, spreading bushy growth. Tatton (FRYentice)
(Fryers 2000) Fl. Burnt The
flowers are large, packed full of petals and utterly charming in the old
fashioned way; sweet fruity fragrance.
Borne in clusters excellent repeat performance; strong vigorous
growth. Highly resistant to disease. Chariots of Fire (J.B. Williams 1996) LCI dr Dark Red This
described as scarlet with bright yellow stamens, but listed in every book I
have checked as dark red. Repeat bloomer, Semi-double looks great in the
photograph. |

the front door and window boxes. Easy

Red with Ivory Centre. Single

Medium to large, double, formal blooms. Great vigour, which has been
the downfall of roses in this colour class to date. Rich, fruity fragrance, colour tends to be
